I there. Amongst all my closest friends and family. One leaf. I thought nothing would change. But it only took a minute for my whole life to change …
I land so􀀆ly on the ground. One last look at my family and the wind carries me along. Millions of questions overtake my mind. Where am I going? Will I see my family again? The wind drops me on a patch of grass. She carries on, leaving me alone. Then I hear footsteps. And laughter. Humans?
Mother had told me about theses monsters. 10 feet tall. Big hands. I was scared. One of them approaches me. I brace for impact and … she throws me into the air into the wind, who carries me again. She looks at me and waves. I look back.
I admire the landscapes as the wind carries me. I’ve never seen the world like this before. Lush forests are the homes of many animals, who don’t have a care in the world. Rich lakes and rivers flow freely through the towering mountains and hills. It makes me proud to be a part of this atmosphere, even though I am just a leaf. A leaf that contributes to this world. A dandelion flows next to me. It turns towards me, understanding what I am thinking. Then it flows off, to its next destination, and soon, I reach mine.
I land near a big building that is crowded with humans, but this time, I’m not scared. None of them look at me. One human starts walking towards me, and he steps on me. Pain overwhelms my body and my eyes begin to close. The last thing that I see is another leaf falling down, about to start the journey I had just been on.
